Rams raid Man United for midfielder Jones

Derby County have completed the signing of Manchester United midfielder David Jones.

Jones has joined the Rams on loan with a view to a £1million permanent transfer which is expected to be completed in January.

And the 22-year-old goes straight into the Rams squad which travels to meet Luton at Kenilworth Road.

Derby manager Billy Davies has backed Jones to become a senior England international.

Davies said: 'David has great ability, a super left foot and boasts a range of passing.

'I see him as a good, old-fashioned midfielder.

'He is a creator and scorer of goals and can only get better - in fact, I believe he has the skill to shine on the international stage and will eventually turn out for his country.'
