Arsenal youngster Matthew Connolly admits he could not quite believe his luck after being invited to train with the senior England squad.
Steve McClaren's squad visited the Gunners' training ground yesterday to prepare for tomorrow's international friendly against Holland.
Arsenal's 19-year-old reserve team captain had just finished a session with his club-mates when McClaren asked the defender to join in England training.
'I had just finished training with Arsenal, then (reserve team manager) Neil Banfield said that England wanted to borrow me,' Connolly told the Arsenal Magazine.
'It was great. We played a few mini-matches at the end and I was in the same team as Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole and Micah Richards. I think I did quite well.
'(Captain) John Terry spoke to me for a while.
'He asked me what position I play and we just had a little chat, which was great because he's someone I look up to.
'I also spoke to Ashley Cole and Micah Richards, and the session lasted about an hour in all. I really enjoyed it.'
Connolly is already an England youth international and made his Arsenal debut in the Carling Cup victory at West Brom last month.
