Gordon: No-one will walk out on Hearts

Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon insists nobody is going to walk away from the club despite further controversy before the 1-1 draw at Falkirk.

Tynecastle skipper Steven Pressley was omitted from the squad for the game, amid reports he had been stripped of the captaincy.

The 33-year-old Pressley recently voiced 'significant unrest' in the dressing room under the regime of majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov.

On that occasion, the Scotland international was flanked by Gordon and midfielder Paul Hartley, who was given just 33 seconds of play at the Falkirk Stadium as a late substitute.

But, when asked if Hartley and himself had considered walking out after Pressley was dropped, Gordon told BBC Scotland: 'No chance. We are not walking out on the club and especially the fans who have been fantastic through all of this.

'There is absolutely no way that will happen from anyone in this squad. We are going to give everything we have to bring success to this club.'

But the Scotland number one conceded issues off the field had become a worry.

Gordon added: 'Of course it is a concern but that is something we will need to sort out. If we can do, we are not far away from being a side who can challenge for things in this league.'

Now Gordon is hoping Pressley will soon be reinstated to the team with Rangers due at Tynecastle on Sunday.

He added: 'I have spoken to Steven and he wished the boys all the best for the game.

'He still wanted us to get the result and do the best we could for everyone here.

'He did not play tonight but, hopefully, he will come back into the reckoning as soon as possible.'
