Levski Sofia to cash in trio in transfer window

SOFIA, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia are prepared to sell three of their regular players during the winter transfer window, chairman Todor Batkov said on Monday.

Levski became the first Bulgarian team to reach the group stages of the Champions League but have no chance of progressing after four consecutive defeats in a group that featured Barcelona, Chelsea and Werder Bremen.

'It's clear now that we'll not compete in the UEFA Cup next spring and we're ready to sell three of our regular players,' Batkov told reporters, without naming the players who might be sold.

'We've already informed the agents and the clubs who showed interest for the price of the players.'

He said the club would probably buy two foreign players, a centre back and an attacking midfielder.

'We've already reached an agreement with one of them and we're still negotiating with the other one,' he said.

Despite failing to impress in Europe, Levski remain a dominant force in Bulgaria where they top the premier league and are unbeaten for 13 matches.
