Perez brace sends Ajax top of Eredivisie

AMSTERDAM, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Dane Kenneth Perez struck twice to send 10-man Ajax Amsterdam back to the top of the Dutch league after a 3-0 win at Heracles on Sunday.

Wesley Sneijder set up Perez six minutes before the interval but six minutes into the second half Ajax were reduced to 10 when Johnny Heitinga was red-carded for a brutal tackle.

Perez converted a penalty seven minutes before time to seal the win with Sneijder adding a third minutes later.

Ajax are top with 30 points from 11 matches, two above PSV Eindhoven following their 3-0 win over NAC Breda on Saturday. AZ Alkmaar beat RKC Waalwijk 2-0 away to remain third on 26 points.

Moussa Dembele and Danny Koevermans struck first half goals to settle the match, while RKC goalkeeper Rob van Dijk also saved a penalty from Shota Arveladze after the break.

Twente are fourth with 21 points after they were held to a goalless draw at Utrecht, while Feyenoord climbed to sixth following their third consecutive 2-1 win, this time at home to Vitesse Arnhem.

Full back Andre Bahia opened the scoring midway through the first half with a close range header but Arnhem striker Danko Lazovic equalised on the hour.

Ten minutes later skipper Theo Lucius restored the lead when he nodded in a free kick from Nick Hofs at the near post.
