Eredivisie: PSV go top after convincing win

AMSTERDAM, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Champions PSV Eindhoven cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over NAC Breda on Saturday to move to the top of the Dutch league for the first time this season.

Peruvian Jefferson Farfan opened the scoring after 27 minutes when NAC goalkeeper Arno van Zwam dived over his shot from outside the box and Phillip Cocu nodded in a corner at the far post to double the lead just before the break.

PSV, who secured their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday, added a third five minutes before the end when Farfan notched his eight goal of the season.

PSV are top with 28 points from 11 matches, one above Ajax Amsterdam, who travel to Heracles Almelo on Sunday. AZ Alkmaar, third on 23 points, visit RKC Waalwijk.

Groningen also won on Saturday, beating Roda JC Kerkrade 2-1. The home side struck twice in the final 20 minutes to overcome Davy de Fauw's opening goal on the hour.

Luis Suarez set up Erik Nevland after 70 minutes for the equaliser and the Uruguayan then rounded two defenders in injury time to seal the win and steer his team to fourth place on 21 points.

At the bottom, Brazilian Tininho converted a late penalty to earn ADO Den Haag a 2-2 draw at home to Excelsior Rotterdam, who took the lead twice on the counter attack thanks to Andwele Slory.

ADO remain second bottom on five points from 11 matches, one above Sparta Rotterdam, who travel to Heerenveen on Sunday.
