COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Baylor soccer team exploded for three first-half goals while the defense excelled in the second half as the Bears snapped a 13-game road and neutral winless streak with a 3-0 victory over No. 17 Missouri. With the win, Baylor improves to 5-6-1, 2-2-0 in the Big 12 Conference while Missouri drops to 8-4-0, 0-3-0 in the league with the loss.
"It was a great win for the team today," head coach George Van Linder said. "We are playing our best soccer of the season right now and it was great to see our players come out and play a terrific match. The defense was amazing and our offense capitalized on every scoring opportunity."
Senior Anna Schuch scored an early goal and the Bears extended the lead in the 33rd minute when Amanda McGrath drilled a shot from 18 yards out to score her first goal of the season.
With only 90 seconds remaining in the first half, Missy McConnell put the game away as she headed in a pass from Pat Roscovius from six yards out to give the Bears a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
