Crocked Cicinho faces lengthy lay-off

MADRID, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Real Madrid's Brazilian international defender Cicinho has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the Primera Liga club said on Sunday.

The 26-year-old right back will need surgery and is expected to be out of action for a large part of the season after suffering the injury during his side's 1-0 win away to Real Betis in the league on Saturday.

Cicinho turned awkwardly while challenging for the ball in Seville and was carried off on a stretcher in the 29th minute.

Real host Dynamo Kiev in Champions League Group E on Tuesday having lost their opening match 2-0 away to Olympique Lyon.
