Werder striker Klose doubt for Chelsea clash
Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf is sweating on the fitness of striker Miroslav Klose ahead of Tuesday's Champions League opener against Chelsea.
The top goalscorer at the World Cup is struggling with a thigh strain which kept him out of the club's embarrassing German Cup defeat to third division Pirmasens on Saturday.
Schaaf will be looking for a reaction from his side in London, although goalkeeper Tim Wiese is already ruled out with bronchitis.
Schaaf will not know until Tuesday morning whether he can call on Germany internationals Tim Borowski and Torsten Frings, who were both rested at the weekend as they were carrying knocks.
