Dutch Eredvise: Ajax and Alkmaar on maximum points

AMSTERDAM, Sept 10 (Reuters) - AZ Alkmaar and Ajax Amsterdam enjoyed comfortable wins in the Dutch first division on Sunday to stay on maximum points after three rounds.

Alkmaar, who lead the table on goal difference, beat NEC Nijmegen 2-0, taking the lead after 30 minutes when Simon Cziommer set up Shota Arveladze. Midfielder Stijn Schaars sealed the win with 10 minutes remaining.

Ajax had a 3-0 home win over Vitesse Arnhem. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, last season's top scorer, struck after 31 minutes for his first goal of the season and added a second after the break, while Spaniard Roger scored on the stroke of half-time.

Vitesse finished with 10 men as fullback Ruud Knol was dismissed for a brutal tackle on Huntelaar.

Groningen moved up to third on seven points with a 2-1 win over Heracles Almelo after overcoming an own goal by Arnold Kruiswijk which came after nine seconds -- a first-division record.

Koen van der Laak and Yevgeni Levchenko scored after the interval to turn the tide.

Feyenoord beat 10-man Sparta 4-1 in the Rotterdam derby for their first win of the season. Wouter Gudde was dismissed in the 61st minute.

Nick Hofs struck twice in the first 14 minutes but three minutes later Ioannis Anastasiou pulled one back from the penalty spot. In the final five minutes Theo Lucius, with a penalty, and Ali Boussaboun sealed the match.

PSV Eindhoven are sixth after their second win of the season, 3-1 at Willem II Tilburg on Saturday.
