Valencia leave out Joaquin for Atletico game
MADRID, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Valencia fans will have to wait before seeing Joaquin make his debut for the club after coach Quique Sanchez Flores left him out of the squad for the Primera Liga clash away to Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
The Spain winger completed a €25million move from Real Betis last week, but was unable to train with his new team mates until Thursday due to international duty.
'There are no problems with the player, he is well, but he needs a short period of adaptation,' Sanchez Flores told a news conference on Friday.
'We want him to be 100 percent before we bring him into the team.'
Former Chelsea defender Asier del Horno, Ruben Baraja and David Albelda were left out because of injuries.
Atletico coach Javier Aguirre has included Spain defender Pablo Ibanez despite him carrying a twisted ankle, though Portuguese centre back Ze Castro may start at the back in his place.
Portugal midfielder Maniche has also made the Atletico squad though is not expected to make his debut.
Both sides won their opening league games two weeks ago.
