Standard Liege sack coach Boskamp
BRUSSELS, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Standard Liege have sacked coach Johan Boskamp after a poor start to the season, Belgian media reported on Wednesday.
Standard declined to comment, but said they would hold a news conference at 6 pm. (1600 GMT).
They have taken just two points from their opening four league matches and after finishing runners up last season, are currently 16th in the 18-team Belgian first division.
Last week they failed to make the group stage of the Champions League after losing in the final qualifying stage to Steaua Bucharest.
Boskamp, a former Dutch international, only took charge at the start of this season.
He had previously been coach at English second division club Stoke City.
