MADRID, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Serbia striker Nikola Zigic has joined Racing Santander on a four-year deal from Red Star Belgrade, the Primera Liga club said on Wednesday.
Racing said on their website that the towering 25-year-old international would join the club next week after Serbia's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Poland.
Zigic, who is 2.02 metres tall, scored 45 goals in 76 appearances for Red Star and won league and Cup doubles with the club in 2004 and 2006.
He was also voted the Serbian league player of the year in 2003 and 2005.
He played for Serbia & Montenegro at the World Cup and has scored four goals in 13 internationals.
Serbia, coached by former Spain boss Javier Clemente, now play as an independent team while Montenegro have yet to gain international soccer recognition.
