Hanke out of Germany squad for Euro qualifiers
BERLIN, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Striker Mike Hanke has pulled out of Germany's squad for their forthcoming European Championship qualifiers because of tonsilitis.
The German Football Association said on Tuesday that Hanke would not be replaced for the matches against Ireland in Stuttgart on Saturday and in San Marino four days later.
Coach Joachim Loew, who replaced Juergen Klinsmann after Germany's run to third place in the World Cup, is left with four strikers in his squad, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, Oliver Neuville and Gerald Asamoah.
Germany are also missing all four of the central defenders Klinsmann took to the World Cup.
