Folk scores first career goal for Bruins

Los Angeles, CA -- UCLA kept its unbeaten streak against Cal State Northridge alive after a 1-1 decision at Frank W. Marshall Field.

Northridge struck first early in the game. In the ninth minute, Matador forward Sunghyun Kim sent in a cross to Ryan Rossi, who fired a shot in from the top of the box. The goal was the first allowed by UCLA at home in a regular season game since November of 2004.

UCLA came back in the 26th minute when midfielder Sal Zizzo found Greg Folk on the left side of the box. Folk fired a shot past Northridge goalkeeper Kevin Guppy for his first career goal.

The Matadors had one last chance in the final 10 seconds of overtime, but UCLA senior goalkeeper Eric Reed dove high to knock away a Rossi shot to preserve the tie. The save was Reed's only save of the game. Guppy finished with nine saves on UCLA's 10 shots on goal.

UCLA brings its all-time record against Cal State Northridge to 12-0-2. The Bruins will next face defending national champion Maryland on the road Friday, Sept. 1.
