'There's more where that came from' - Berbatov

Tottenham's new striking hero, Dimitar Berbatov, insists there is more to come after taking just seven minutes to score on his home debut against Sheffield United.

Berbatov, a £10.8million signing from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, finished off Aaron Lennon's low cross to put Spurs on the way to a 2-0 victory over the Blades at White Hart Lane last night.

The Bulgarian striker then knocked down Robbie Keane's pass for Jermaine Jenas to complete the scoring ten minutes later as Spurs ran out comfortable winners against Neil Warnock's Barclays Premiership newcomers.

Now Berbatov is looking for more of the same in his first season in English football.

Berbatov said: 'The club brought me here to score goals and that's exactly what I want to do, so of course it's great to have scored for Spurs already. But now I want to score a lot more.'

Spurs were irresistible against United with Aaron Lennon and captain Robbie Keane outstanding as the home side threatened to over-run United in the opening half.

It was the perfect response from Martin Jol's side after their opening day defeat to Bolton at the Reebok Stadium.

England goalkeeper Paul Robinson was a virtual spectator such was Tottenham's domination and the north London side could have scored more with substitute Jermain Defoe twice testing United keeper Paddy Kenny in the last five minutes of a one-sided encounter.

Teenage winger Lennon gave United's full-back Chris Armstrong a torrid time and coach Jol said: 'It's about control with Aaron because normally if you are a quick player you lack a bit of vision. But he shows me every day in training that he has vision as well as speed.

'He is one of the best wing players I have seen in the last 10 years. He is different. Aaron will improve and it is only a matter of experience with him - he is only 19.'

For Warnock, who lost the services of striker Rob Hulse along with Derek Geary and Paul Ifill from the side that drew with Liverpool at Bramall Lane on Saturday, it was a harsh lesson to learn.

Warnock said: 'We had a difficult day because we lost three players before the game and had to change a lot of things round.

'I felt we were in awe of them and one or two of our players let themselves down for 20 minutes.

'But Tottenham's quality shone through. Keane was outstanding as was Lennon in the early part of the game.

'At 2-0 a lot of people must have thought it was going to be double figures but I thought we responded well and it would have been nice to put them under pressure.

'But it was the quality of the opposition as well, not just our mistakes. Lennon, in spurts, was unplayable.'
