Feyenoord sign Belgian defender Leonard
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Belgian international defender Philippe Leonard has signed a two-year contract with Feyenoord, the Rotterdam club said on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old left back started his career at Standard Liege and returned there two years ago after an eight year spell at Monaco and Olympique Nice in France.
Leonard's arrival follows the transfer of Dutch international striker Dirk Kuyt to Liverpool last week. Feyenoord made a poor start to the season on Sunday, losing 3-0 at Groningen with three goals in 13 minutes.
