Bremen score three late goals to beat Hanover

BERLIN, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Bundesliga title aspirants Werder Bremen struck three goals in the final 11 minutes to snatch a thrilling 4-2 victory at Hanover on Sunday.

Bremen were one of six teams to win on the opening weekend of the league season, including champions Bayern Munich, who beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at home on Friday.

Germany striker Miroslav Klose and Denmark's Daniel Jensen both scored in the final five minutes after substitute Hugo Almeida headed the equaliser in the 79th to give Bremen, who top-scored with 79 goals last season, the victory.

Diego first put Bremen ahead in the 20th minute, robbing Hanover's U.S. defender Steve Cherundolo and slamming his shot past keeper Robert Enke.

Hanover equalised five minutes before the break with Jiri Stajner taking a through ball from Michael Tarnat to beat Bremen's Tim Wiese. Bremen wasted a chance to go in front again when Enke stopped a penalty by Tim Borowski three minutes later.

Iran's Vahid Hasemian put Hanover in front in the 67th minute after taking a fine pass from Stajner before Almeida began Bremen's fight-back with his equaliser three minutes after coming on for tiring striker Ivan Klasnic.
