Injured Nelsen to miss Rovers pre-season tour
Blackburn defender Ryan Nelsen will not join the rest of the team on their pre-season tour of Holland and Germany due to injury.
The Kiwi has fully recovered from the broken leg he sustained in April but has been troubled by a minor hamstring problem.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes felt it best for the 28-year-old not to travel and miss the games against Alemannia Aachen tomorrow and Sparta Rotterdam on Wednesday.
Hughes told the club's official website: 'It is dragging on - it is a little bit of a niggle that he just can't shake off.
'He's continued to have treatment and we hope that is going to resolve itself sooner rather than later.
'He may be better off staying behind to get more intense treatment than we'll be able to provide if we are in different surroundings.'
Goalkeeper Peter Enckelman will also miss the trip with an ankle injury but David Bentley (foot) will travel to their Dutch training camp.
