Striker Mista completes Atletico move

MADRID, July 27 (Reuters) - Striker Mista has completed his move from Valencia to Atletico Madrid on a four-year contract, the Primera Liga club said on Thursday.

'I want to feel important again. Last season was very difficult for me but now I am keen to give my all for this club,' Mista told a news conference.

The 27-year-old, who was the Primera Liga's top scorer with 19 goals in the 2003/4 season, is reported to have moved for around four million euros.

In his five seasons with Valencia he won two Primera Liga titles and the UEFA Cup in 2004.

Although he made 29 appearances last season 19 were as a substitute. The close season signing of Fernando Morientes from Liverpool appeared to have made Mista surplus to requirements at Valencia.

But the former Real Madrid youth team player recognised with forwards like Fernando Torres, Mateja Kezman and Argentine youngster Sergio Aguero already at Atletico, competition for places would be tough at the Vicente Calderon.

'It is positive to have so many important strikers at the club and is a good problem for the coach,' Mista added.

'I am here to help the team how I can.'

He is the latest in a string of signings by Atletico who have already bought forward Aguero, midfielder Costinha and defenders Ze Castro, Mariano Pernia and Yourkas Seitaridis.
