Al Ahli strike late to win Egyptian Super Cup
CAIRO, July 24 (Reuters) - A stoppage-time goal from midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika gave Al Ahli victory in the Egyptian Super Cup, a week after the African champions lost their long-standing unbeaten record.
Aboutrika scored two minutes into additional time to snatch a 1-0 victory from ENPPI, who had begun the game brightly and kept Al Ahli pinned back in their own half.
It was the second successive Super Cup win for Al Ahli, who also snatched a narrow victory over ENPPI last year.
Al Ahli now turn their attention to the African Champions League in which they host JS Kabylie of Algeria on Saturday in a Group A match.
