Dirk Kuyt is expected to decide on his future in the next few days.
The 25-year-old Holland striker, who plays for Feyenoord and is a reported target of Newcastle among others, was expected to return to training with the Eredivisie club today after his World Cup exploits.
But he has asked for some time off as he weighs up whether to commit himself to the Rotterdam club.
He told AD Sportwereld: 'I have an arrangement with coach Erwin Koeman that I can take some more days to think about my future.'
Kuyt has been linked with a move to the Premiership for several years, and after Feyenoord's failure to qualify for the Champions League, he may choose to leave the club he joined in 2003.
