MADRID, July 17 (Reuters) - Getafe aim to complete the signing of Argentine international goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri from Boca Juniors on Tuesday, the Primera Liga side's president Angel Torres said.
'Everything is on course and we are hoping that 'El Pato' ('the duck' as Abbondanzieri is known) will arrive on Tuesday to undergo a medical,' Torres was quoted as telling Argentine radio station La Red in Marca.
Argentine media have reported that Getafe will pay around 1.5 million euros ($1.90 million) for the 33-year-old who was Argentina's first choice keeper at the World Cup.
Abbondanzieri has won three Libertadores Cups and two World Club Cups since joining Boca in 1997. He was voted South American goalkeeper of the year in 2003.
Getafe, who are coached by former German international Bernd Schuster, finished in ninth place in the Primera Liga last season.
