Zico signs two-year Fenerbahce coaching deal
ISTANBUL, July 4 (Reuters) - Fenerbahce has signed former Brazilian international and ex-Japan coach Zico to replace German coach Christoph Daum, the club said on Tuesday.
Zico has signed a two-year contract with the Istanbul-based team, their website said.
His four years leading Japan ended in an early exit from the World Cup when Japan were defeated by Australia and 4-1 by Brazil, leaving them bottom of their group.
Daum led Fenerbahce to second place in the league in 2006, after winning their 16th league title the previous season.
