Galaxy fire all three assistant coaches in overhaul
CARSON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Galaxy fired all three of their assistant coaches Friday, dismissing Billy McNicol, Steve Rammel and Gerhard Benthin two days after hiring Frank Yallop as head coach. The team said replacements would be hired as soon as possible. The defending MLS champions fired Steve Sampson as head coach Tuesday and hired Yallop the following day. In their first game under Yallop, the Galaxy lost to Chivas USA 2-1 on Thursday night. The Galaxy (2-9-1) will try to snap a franchise-record seven-game losing streak Sunday against visiting D.C. United, which has the league's best record at 7-1-3 record.
