Birmingham to secure Jerome deal after medical
Birmingham have agreed terms with Cardiff striker Cameron Jerome and hope to complete the signing after a medical next week.
The Welsh side confirmed they had agreed an undisclosed fee for the highly-rated 19-year-old today.
And Birmingham also revealed a contract has been agreed with the player via his agent.
A statement on the club's website, bcfc.com, said: 'Following recent press speculation, and confirmation by the player's agent, the club would like to share with its supporters that terms have been agreed with Cardiff City for Cameron Jerome.
'Karren Brady (Birmingham managing director) met with the player's agent last night and they have now agreed terms.
'Jerome will be flying back from Miami early next week.'
The England Under-21 international netted 18 times in his full debut season in the Coca-Cola Championship, attracting interest from Sheffield United, West Brom, Norwich and Birmingham.
Jerome, valued at £3.5million, has agreed terms with the St Andrews outfit and will have a medical next week.
Agent Tony Finnigan said: 'We're talking with Birmingham after we were told we could do so by Cardiff, so from that you can presume they have agreed terms. At this moment they are the only club we are talking to.'
