Maniche exits Chelsea as loan deal ends
Chelsea have praised Portuguese midfielder Maniche after announcing his departure from the club.
The 28-year-old was a loan signing from Dynamo Moscow in January and leaves after helping Chelsea clinch a second consecutive Premiership title.
He started just five matches and the deal now looks unlikely to be made permanent.
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon said: 'He certainly contributed to the team while he was here. We make a big thank you for that and wish him all the best with his future.
'It is never easy for anybody coming into a team halfway through the year and he had some getting fit to do.
'He was eager to prove his worth and what he contributed to the squad is not always just about what you do on the pitch.'
Maniche, who is in Portugal's World Cup squad, had previously played under Mourinho at Benfica and at Porto, with whom he won the Champions League in 2004.
