JOHANNESBURG, May 11 (Reuters) - South Africa named former captain Aaron Mokoena from English club Blackburn Rovers in their squad for next weekend's Cosafa Castle Cup tournament, even though he was injured in his club's last match of the English season last weekend.
Caretaker coach Pitso Mosimane said he hoped Mokoena would recover in time for the four-nation tournament in Gaborone, Botswana on May 20-21.
South Africa play Swaziland in the semi-final on May 20 and meet either Botswana or Madagascar the next day.
Mosimane's experimental squad were held to a 0-0 draw by Lesotho in a friendly international in Maseru on Wednesday in a match to prepare for the tournament.
