Wigan defender Pascal Chimbonda has handed in a transfer request.
The French right-back joined the Latics last July from Bastia for £500,000 and was named in the Professional Footballers' Association team of the year after an impressive first season in the Premiership.
A statement on the club's official website, www.wiganlatics.premiumtv.co.uk, read: 'Defender Pascal Chimbonda handed in a transfer request after the 4-2 defeat at Highbury to Arsenal.
'As soon as the final whistle went, the French defender handed in the request to manager Paul Jewell.
'But chairman Dave Whelan has stated that the 27-year old will not leave for less than £6million.'
Wigan boss Paul Jewell was left stunned last week when Jimmy Bullard quit the Latics to join Fulham for £2.5million after activating a release clause in his contract.
