Campo to spurn Euro offers for another Bolton deal

Ivan Campo is poised to sign a new one-year contract at Bolton.

The former Real Madrid star will have a meeting with manager Sam Allardyce next week following the final match of the season, against Birmingham on Sunday.

Campo's current deal is due to expire in June and he has been linked with moves to Real Sociedad and Real Mallorca in Spain.

But he is keen to extend his stay at Bolton after arriving in August 2002 from the Spanish giants Madrid.

Campo, 32, said: 'It is not only teams in Spain that have been asking about me but others as well.

'They have been inquiring about my future and what my situation is.

'But I do not want to speak to these teams until I have talked to the manager.

'Bolton is a special place for me now because of the coaches, the players and the supporters. I would like to stay as I am very happy here.'

Campo has endured a frustrating season after suffering two fractured metatarsals and being involved in only 17 matches.

He added: 'I am just glad to be back playing again as I have had some bad luck this year.'
