Costinha quits Moscow over unpaid wages
LISBON, May 3 (Reuters) - Portugal midfielder Costinha has rescinded his contract with Dynamo Moscow, saying on Wednesday that his salary was in arrears.
Costinha wrote to the Russian Premier League club last month to end his contract and will send a letter to FIFA on Thursday complaining about the back pay that he says is owed to him.
'My future is in the hands of FIFA,' Costinha told a news conference on Wednesday. Dynamo signed the midfielder from Porto for four million euros ($4.76 million) last year.
Costinha has been dropped for an unspecified period for disciplinary reasons following a fallout with coach Yuri Syomin.
The former Russia manager has said that Costinha will never play for Dynamo again while he is their coach.
'I'll never allow a player to run the club the way Costinha has tried,' Syomin told Sport-Express newspaper last week.
Dynamo have allowed the player to train with Portuguese Premier League club Belenenses ahead of the World Cup.
