St Etienne coach Baup steps down again
ST ETIENNE, France, May 3 (Reuters) - St Etienne coach Elie Baup will leave at the end of the season, the Ligue 1 club said on Wednesday.
Baup, 51, who has been in charge since June 2004, turned down an offer to extend his contract, the club said in a statement.
St Etienne, French champions a record 10 times and European Cup finalists in 1976, have been struggling for years and are 13th in the standings with two games left.
Famous for his trademark baseball cap, Baup also coached St Etienne from 1994 to 1996 before joining Girondins Bordeaux, whom he guided to the French title in 1999 and a League Cup success three years later.
