JOHANNESBURG, May 2 (Reuters) - Former Angola coach Djalma Cavalcante has returned to take over at Petro Atletico, the country's biggest club, Angolan officials said on Tuesday.
The Brazilian was in charge of the national team in 1999, taking Angola to victory in the regional Cosafa Castle Cup.
Cavalcante replaces Carlos Alhinho, who took over from him as national team coach in 2000. Former Portuguese international Alhinho was fired last month after a poor start to the season.
Cavalcante's debut will be in the third round of the African Confederation Cup on Sunday when Petro host Berekum Arsenal of Ghana in a second leg match.
The first leg in Ghana ended in a 0-0 draw.
