ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, April 23 (Reuters) - Ajax Amsterdam beat Feyenoord 4-2 in the second leg of a Dutch league semi-final playoff on Sunday, securing a 7-2 aggregate win.
The winner of the post-season playoffs, involving the teams who finished second down to fifth, secures a Champions League third qualifying round ticket.
Ajax will play Groningen, who beat AZ Alkmaar 4-3 on aggregate, for a place in Europe's premier club competition.
Trailing 3-0 from the first leg on Thursday, Feyenoord started brightly and created two chances in the first 10 minutes but it was Ajax who went ahead 12 minutes before the interval when Mauro Rosales scored. Six minutes later Klaas Jan Huntelaar doubled the lead.
Salomon Kalou just failed to pull one back for Feyenoord when he hit the post from close range.
Nourdin Boukhari added a third early in the second half for Ajax before Dirk Kuijt pulled one back. Nicolea Mitea scored Ajax's fourth on the counter-attack before Kuijt got his second.
Alkmaar, who finished second in the first division, trailed 3-1 from the first leg.
Despite going 2-0 up in the second leg with strikes from Danny Koevermans and Shota Arveladze, Groningen midfielder Danny Buijs beat Dutch international Joris Mathijsen in the air to head his side into the final.
Feyenoord and Alkmaar will be joined in next season's UEFA Cup by the loser of the final.
