Garcia strike for Liverpool proves to be winner

LONDON -- Thierry Henry came on as a substitute and scored in the 84th minute to give Arsenal a 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the last game at Highbury Stadium between the north London rivals. In the other key game, Liverpool defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the semifinals of the FA Cup at Old Trafford. The loss will prevent Chelsea, which needs only one more point to win the league, from claiming more than one trophy this season. Liverpool, with goals from John Arne Riise and Luis Garcia, will face either West Ham or Middlesbrough in the final. They play Sunday at Villa Park in Birmingham. Henry was again the star for Arsenal. This time he came on as a substitute -- he was being rested for Tuesday's deciding second-leg Champions League semifinal -- and scored 22 minutes after entering play. Robbie Keane put Tottenham ahead in the 66th and Tottenham finished with 10 men after Edgar Davids was sent off in the 86th for a second yellow card. The draw leaves Tottenham in fourth place -- four points ahead of Arsenal -- as the two clubs fight for the last Champions League spot from England. Spurs have two games remaining and Arsenal three. Arsenal is moving to a new 60,000-seat stadium next season. In other Premier League games Saturday, it was: Bolton 4, Charlton 1; Everton 0, Birmingham 0; Newcastle 3, West Bromwich Albion 0, Portsmouth 2, Sunderland 1. Chelsea leads the Premier League with 88 points and needs one point from its last three games to clinch its second straight title. Manchester United is next with 79 followed by Liverpool (73). Tottenham has 62 and Arsenal has 58.

Italy
ROME -- Juventus' lead has been cut to three points in Serie A. The club's fifth straight league tie -- 1-1 against 10-man Lazio on Saturday -- left the Turin club with 82 points. AC Milan, which won 3-1 at Messina, is closing in quickly with 79. Third-place Inter Milan, with 74 points, won 4-0 at home against Reggina. Fiorentina defeated Empoli 2-1, edging into fourth place with 68 points. France striker David Trezeguet scored his 21st goal of the season in the 86th minute to make it 1-1 for Juventus after a first-half goal by Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi. Lazio had a second goal by Ousmane Dabo disallowed in the 34th minute. France midfielder Dabo argued the call and was ejected. Marek Jankulovski, Gennaro Gattuso and Alberto Gilardino rallied AC Milan to its victory following a goal in the sixth minute by Messina's Giuseppe Sculli. It was a costly victory as Milan's key players -- Kaka, Alessandro Nesta and Massimo Ambrosini -- were injured during the first half and had to leave the field. It wasn't immediately known whether they would miss Wednesday's Champions League second-leg semifinal at FC Barcelona. Internazionale beat lowly Reggina 4-0 with Julio Ricardo Cruz scoring two goals.

Germany
BERLIN -- Hamburger SV's hopes of catching Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich were hit by a 2-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Hamburg stayed four points behind defending champion Bayern, which plays Sunday against Mainz. Both top teams will then have three games left. Simon Rolfes scored in the eighth minute and Paul Freier in the 77th to give Leverkusen a fifth straight win. Hamburg had won six of its previous seven matches, wiping six points off Bayern's lead in three weeks.

Spain
MADRID, Spain -- Goals by Mikel Alonso and Mark Gonzalez helped lowly Real Sociedad beat Champions League title-chaser Villarreal 2-0 in the Spanish league. Meanwhile, Celta Vigo defeated Zaragoza 4-0, and Atletico Madrid edged Alaves 1-0. Uruguay goalkeeper Sebastian Viera was not able to hang onto midfielder Alonso's long-range shot in the ninth minute, and South Africa-born Chilean Gonzalez scored from a free kick that stayed low and deflected off Villarreal's defensive wall in the 27th. Sociedad was 12th in the 20-team standings, five points clear of the relegation zone, while Villarreal remained eighth with 49 points. FC Barcelona led the standings with 73 points, followed by Valencia (62) and Real Madrid (60). All three leaders play on Sunday.
