BERLIN, April 19 (Reuters) - Champions and Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich will be without French defender Valerien Ismael for three games after he was banned on Wednesday for elbowing another player.
The German soccer federation (DFB) handed down the ban after its disciplinary committee examined video footage of the 30-year-old lashing out at Arminia Bielefeld's Radomir Dalovic in Bayern's 2-0 home win on Saturday.
The incident was not spotted by the referee. Bayern, who are four points ahead of Hamburg SV with four games to play, will not appeal.
The supension means the defender, who has missed just one Bundesliga game all season, can play again in Bayern's home game against Borussia Dortmund on the final day of the season.
Ismael said he thought the ban was unfair, adding he had been provoked by Dalovic and had just tried to tear himself free.
