Easter will 'make or break' West Brom's season

Defender Paul Robinson believes Easter will 'make or break' West Brom's chances of staying in the Premiership.

The Baggies are in the bottom three with just five games remaining and on Saturday have to visit Arsenal before playing host to Bolton on Bank Holiday Monday.

Robinson knows that Bryan Robson's side need to pick up some tangible reward from those matches or face an uphill struggle to pull off the 'Great Escape' for the second year running.

He told said: 'We can take heart from playing well against the top teams this season and we have beaten sides like Arsenal, Tottenham and Blackburn at our place earlier in the season.

'We've done ourselves justice before against some of the leading sides so why can't we do it again?

'Easter will make or break us. We have to be realistic now. It's going to be a long fightback if we don't get any points over Easter.

'But we will keep going to the end. We've got a lot of fighters in the dressing room and we'll never give up. We'll try our hearts out and give our best right to the end.

'We have still got our heads held up high. Everyone is upbeat still but we do need to pick up the points that some of our recent performances have deserved.'

Baggies boss Robson believes that defensive solidity will have a major part to play in Albion's efforts to remain in the top flight.

He said: 'Last season we had success in the latter games because we weren't conceding more than one goal a game with the exception of the trip to Middlesbrough.

'We have to get into that kind of scenario again for the last few games and a clean sheet at Aston Villa on Sunday was encouraging.'
