Bolton have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Oscar Perez on the day they learnt his compatriot Ivan Campo would be missing for 10 weeks of the season with a broken foot.
The 24-year-old Perez was released from his contract with Cordoba, playing in the third tier of Spanish football, earlier this month and has signed for Wanderers on a free transfer until the end of the season.
'We have signed Oscar to strengthen numbers in the crucial midfield area,' Sam Allardyce told the club's official website.
'He has played most of his career in the lower leagues in Spain and will mainly get his chance in the reserves and potentially in the first team later this season.
'He has a great attitude to training and with the right application can develop his career in England.'
Perez joined Cordoba in 2004 where he made 16 appearances. His previous clubs include Eibar, Real Oviedo and Lealtad.
Campo suffered his injury in Wanderers' FA Cup fourth-round victory over Arsenal, following a tackle by Gunners midfielder Abou Diaby.
