'I'm not the man for England,' insists Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists he is 'not the man for England' but the man to help England win the World Cup by keeping his England players fit.

The Football Association are seeking a successor to Sven-Goran Eriksson who is set to step down after this summer's World Cup finals in Germany.

But Mourinho, speaking during a visit to the Portuguese embassy in London, revealed that if he does move into international management eventually it will be with his native Portugal.

'I would want to be 12 more years at top club level and then time for my country (Portugal),' he told Sky Sports News.

'I am not the man for England but I am the man to help the English team by providing players in good condition for the English team.

'If in May I can give you (Frank) Lampard and (John) Terry and other players (Joe Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips) fit it will help you win the World Cup.

'I owe this to England because I work here.'
