Draw helps Bruges rejoin Liege on top in Belgium

BRUSSELS, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Club Bruges rejoined Standard Liege at the top of the Belgian first division with a 1-1 draw at SV Roeselare on Sunday.

The champions went behind to a 15th-minute goal by Wagneau Eloi but Mannaseh Ishiaku equalised for Bruges with 20 minutes left.

Bruges and Liege have 39 points from 20 games, with Anderlecht two points adrift in third position.

Serhiy Kovalenko was dismissed for two bookable offences as Liege were held to a 0-0 draw at second-from-bottom St Truiden on Saturday.

Anderlecht's poor form continued with a 2-0 defeat at Germinal Beerschot on Friday.

A goal in either half from Jurgen Cavens sank Anderlecht, who have not won since Dec. 10.

Lierse remained rooted to the bottom despite a 2-0 win at home to nine-man Beveren on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Racing Genk joined Zulte Waregem in fourth spot following a 2-0 triumph over Westerlo.

Waregem drew 2-2 at La Louviere.

Ghent beat Cercle Bruges 2-1, Charleroi were 1-0 winners at Excelsior Mouscron and FC Brussels and Lokeren drew 1-1.
