Euro2008 qualifying draw - LIVE
While the 32 nations heading for Germany this summer are dusting off their designer suits in readiness for the World Cup finals the rest of Europe is eagerly awaiting the qualifying draw for Austria-Switzerland 2008.
The 50 European nations will begin qualifying for the Championships in September, a programme of games which will run through until October 2007.
There will be six groups of seven teams and one group of eight. The top two teams in the group will advance to the finals, joining the hosts. For this tournament there will be no qualifying play-offs.
With Greece automatically one of the top seeds, following their surprise triumph in Portugal two years ago, there could be a couple of extremely strong groups in qualifying.
England are also among the top seeds, but with Italy, Spain and Germany in pool two there is the scope for a titanic battle for whoever takes over from Sven Goran Eriksson later this year.
The draw takes place this Friday, January 27, shortly after 11am GMT following the usual preamble from the UEFA dignitaries. And you can follow the draw live on Soccernet.
The nations in each group then have 60 days to agree on the fixture list, otherwise UEFA intervenes to set to programme.
