ISTANBUL, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Besiktas said on Tuesday it had agreed to loan Ailton to Hamburg SV until the end of the season with a 1.75 million euro ($2.15 million) option to sell the Brazilian striker.
The Turkish club said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange that the loan deal was worth 450,000 euros.
Ailton, who was once the Bundesliga's top scorer, has been consistently linked with a return to Germany because he was unsettled in Turkey.
Ailton scored 28 goals when he helped Werder Bremen to the league and cup double in the 2003-04 season. He then spent a year at Schalke 04 before moving to Besiktas last July.
