Atletico will listen to offers for Torres

Atletico Madrid are willing to listen to offers for one-time Chelsea target Fernando Torres.

The Spain striker was a target for the Blues last summer and has been linked with moves to AC Milan, Barcelona and Arsenal in the recent past.

The 21-year-old, who was the youngest player to appear for Atletico and for the national team, has a contract with the club which expires in 2008.

'As president and club administrator, I am obliged to listen to offers for Fernando Torres just like of any other player of our club,' club president Enrique Cerezo told the Spanish press.

'You study the offer and then you see what happens.'

The highly-rated Torres has a £62million transfer clause, which has been enough to deter most clubs from pursuing a move.

Despite his admission, Cerezo reiterated that the club was keen to keep Torres.

'We are not a club that sells and we have no intention of selling Torres for the sake of it. Fernando has a contract with Atletico and there's nothing that stops him from completing it.'
