Morocco lose Ouaddou from Cup squad

CAIRO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Morocco defender Abdeslam Ouaddou has been ruled out of the African Nations Cup finals because of injury, the country's football federation said on Monday.

Ouaddou, who missed Morocco's opening match at the tournament in Egypt on Saturday, suffered a quadriceps muscle strain in training before the start of the finals.

The Stade Rennes player will be out for three weeks.

Ouaddou was a member of the Morocco side that finished runners-up at the last finals in Tunisia but was sent home from the 2002 finals in Mali after a fight with a team mate.

Morocco play hosts Egypt in their second Group A match in Cairo on Tuesday. They were beaten 1-0 by the Ivory Coast last Saturday.
