Ex-Rangers striker Miller agrees to join Celtic

GLASGOW, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Former Rangers striker Kenny Miller has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Scottish Premier League club's arch-rivals Celtic.

Miller, who plays for English second division Wolverhampton Wanderers, will join at the end of the season on a three-year deal with a further year's option, Celtic said on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Scotland forward, who moved to Wolves from Rangers in Dec. 2001 for three million pounds ($5.27 million), will become only the third player to represent both Glasgow clubs following Mo Johnston and Alfie Conn.

Scotland international Miller said: 'It is a tremendous honour to have signed for a club of Celtic's stature.

'I was fortunate to have a number of options, however when Celtic made their interest known then that was where I wanted to play.

'Having spoken to (manager) Gordon Strachan and the club I am delighted to have committed my future to Celtic,' he told the club's website.

'Clearly, my focus for the rest of this season is Wolves and I will be doing all I can to assist the club in its efforts to secure promotion from the Championship.'

Strachan said: 'Kenny is a quality player and I am delighted to have signed him. He is still a young player with the best years ahead of him.'
