Ukraine keeper doubtful for World Cup
KIEV, Jan 17 (Reuters) - Ukraine's first-choice goalkeeper Olexander Shovkovsky is a fitness doubt for the World Cup after sustaining a serious injury in a friendly on Tuesday.
The Dynamo Kiev player broke his collarbone when he collided with an opponent in a game against Russian side FK Moscow, according to local media reports.
Shovkovsky, 31, played in each of Ukraine's 12 World Cup qualifiers, helping his side to first place in a tough European Group Two.
Ukraine will be appearing in their first World Cup finals in Germany later this year. They have been drawn in Group H alongside Spain, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
