Rangers' out-of-favour defender Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan admits signing for the Ibrox club last summer was a 'mistake'.
The 31-year-old has only made seven starts since his move from Paris St Germain and is set to depart Scotland during the transfer window.
Pierre-Fanfan was expected to form a partnership with Julien Rodriguez, who arrived for £1million from Monaco at the beginning of the season.
However, when manager Alex McLeish also re-signed Greek stopper Sotirios Kyrgiakos, the French defender was, for the most part, consigned to life on the substitutes' bench.
He told the Herald: 'I knew there were problems ahead when Rangers brought back Soto.
'I arrived on a free and it is natural that, if the club spends £1million on a player like Julien, he has to play.
'It is the same when they brought someone back (Kyrgiakos) who helped them win the league last season.
'At first I thought I would play alongside Julien because we understand each other but in fact, we have played together only twice.
'I have great respect for my team-mates but it looks as though signing for Rangers has been a mistake.
'I have waited for almost six months for injuries to suspensions to give me an opportunity but I cannot hang around for ever.'
