ESPN's World Club Top 25

Chelsea posted three wins during the holiday week to move back into the top spot in the ESPN World Club Top 25 in the first ranking of 2006. Juventus, sitting at home during the Serie A winter break, had held the top spot in the rankings for eight straight weeks.

  • The ESPN World Club Top 25, a computer-based ranking of the world's top clubs, was developed by the staff at ESPN International in 1999. Now in its sixth season, the Top 25 formula takes into consideration performances in league, continental and cup competitions.

The Top 25 is released every week throughout the football club season.
