Barcelona chief declares interest in Henry

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has fuelled speculation that the Spanish giants are poised to launch a big-money bid for Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Henry has been continuously linked with a host of Europe's top clubs after failing to commit his long-term future to the Gunners.

And Laporta last night issued an ominous warning to Arsenal fans when he told The Sun: 'We will do all we can to sign Thierry Henry.'

Those words come on the back of Ronaldinho's weekend declaration that he would back any move by Barcelona to sign Henry and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

Ronaldinho admitted: 'Everybody in Barcelona is talking about Thierry and Frank joining us. I would not be unhappy at all if those two players sign for us.

'Henry is a beautiful player and and has got complete technique. I adore watching him. I respect him very much as a man and as a footballer. He reminds me of myself,' quoted the News of the World.
