Emre Can deal with Juventus could happen 'within next 10 days' - Marotta

Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum insists Mo Salah must replicate his form for many years to be mentioned with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta says he expects a decision from Emre Can "within the next 10 days," and played down the prospect of the club signing another attacker amid speculation linking Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata with a return to the Serie A champions.

Speaking at a book launch in Turin, Marotta discussed the many transfer rumours involving the Italian champions, leading with their already-public pursuit of Can, and the chances of Morata wearing black and white again next season.

"It's clear that his position makes him appetising to many clubs," Marotta said on the Liverpool midfielder, who is out of contract this summer.

"I'm optimistic for Juventus; we've got a great chance. "The operation will be completed, positively or negatively, within the next 10 days.

"Every day, players are being linked with us. Morata has a great memory of Juventus and he would like to savour it again, as would many others. At the moment, though, these are just rumours. We have a world-class attack as it is."

A place in the Juve attack could be freed up if Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala or Gonzalo Higuain were to leave, but Marotta says that would be unlikely.

"It's the same principle as always: if a player asks to leave, we accommodate their wishes," Marotta said.

"At the moment, though, there is no such stance [from Mandzukic] and he will be a Juventus player next year.

"Dybala's position is pretty definite. We've replied by putting a lot of faith in him. By extending his contract, we've clarified his position. No player is on the market and we're very happy with [Gonzalo] Higuain, and there are no problems at the moment."

Marotta also confirmed that Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian "could become an important opportunity," but he said Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic "is a great talent, but considering the market value, we're not going to explore this option."
